All,
The Information Systems department will be moving away from Barracuda’s Email Encryption (include ‘Encrypt This’ in any email) at the end of September.
We encourage you to begin using encryption through Outlook to securely send any emails containing PII. See attached Information Security Policy for reminders on what must be encrypted to be sent externally.
Microsoft’s email encryption offers a few different options to send securely –
-
Encrypt – Encrypts the message
-
Do Not Forward – Encrypts & Does Not Allow the Recipient to Forward
-
Confidential / All Employees – To be used for internal communication only – Does not allow forwarding / viewing by external recipients
-
Highly Confidential / All Employees – To be used for internal communication only – Does not allow forwarding / viewing by external recipients or replies by internal recipients
To send encrypted using Microsoft, follow the path below:
-
Compose your message
-
Click Options
-
Select Encrypt
-
Select the Encryption Option (see above for descriptions)
If you have any questions, please reach out to the Computer Helpdesk ([email protected]).
Thanks,
